Abraham Roberts was an early settler of Lockhart, Caldwell Co., TX, between 1828-1841. Abraham and brother Alexander were members of Capt. Matthew Caldwell's early Texas Rangers, ca. 1839. In 1846 he bought 300 ac. on Tinney's Creek from Margaret Tinney on Christmas Day. He is listed as one of the signers of the 1847 petition to creat the new county.
The 1924 Roberts Family Tree compiled by W. Powell Roberts states that Caldwell was the first child born in the newly formed county for which he was named.
