Note: George worked all his life for Pollack Steel Company. According to Bud Hare he was good in math. "He read a lot and was well informed about world affairs. He could speak German and this is the language used by my parents and grandparents when they didn't want us to know what they were talking about. German was taught in school until WW I. George enjoyed smoking a pipe."
5-24-99 Today dad showed me the two prayer books that he brought from his mother's after she died. One has the name of George Tiemann written in it. It seems it was presented to him on September 1, 1870 when George made his First Communion. The person presenting the prayer book as a gift was William Konersmann. This may have been George's grandfather. There is an inscription in German and mentions the city of Hagan.
George married a woman named Emma. He also had a sister named Emma.
