Notes
a. Note:   He worked for Procter and Gamble until he retired. He loved baseball. He also smoked cigars. He bought a car, an "Ohio" after WW I. Later he owned an Oakland, Ford Model A, and Oldsmobile. They lived in Elmwood and owned a home on Oak Street.
The George Hare who was a builder was no relation. This is family lore.
At the time of his death he live in Hartwell at 50 Ferndale.
8-11-99 Today I visited the Cincinnati Hamilton County Public Library and found the record for George Hare in the 1900 census. It indicates his Elizabeth, his wife, was born in June, 1869. The two sons, Harry and Bernard, are also listed in the 1900 census along with the month and year of their births. The form indicates that both Elizabeth's parents were born in Germany. The form indicates that George's father was born in Ohio and that his mother was born in Germany. This is consistant with what we know. George's father, who was also named George was born in Ohio in 1838. The form also indicates that George was employed as a "foreman soap works" which must mean Proctor and Gamble. Bud Hare in his sketch of the family indicates that George worked for P&G. Another fact from the 1900 census indicates the place of residence in 1900: Helen Avenue in Elmwood Place. The township is called Millcreek Township.
The census for 1900 indicates that George and Elizabeth had been married for thirteen years. Therefore they were married about 1887.
