David Crawford Beck was born in Dickson County Tennessee where he lived most of his life. As a man he ran small sawmills in and around the hills of Dickson County. He made his home in Burns, TN and later Pegram & Kingston Springs in Cheatham County. In later years David moved to Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee to live with his youngest daughter, Willie Mae (Bill) Beck-Childs and her family, until his death.
