a. Note:   Died of what they called "Consumption." Most likely Cancer. Pawpaw was living in San Diego, California at the time of her death.She had been to Clarendon to see her three weeks earlier. Doctorssaid she would live six months or more. She died on June 14, 1944,Pawpaw got the telegram three days later. By then she had alreadybeen buried. Uncle Guy wrote her a letter stating that her mothernever forgave her for leaving her sick!!
