Note: Ruth Carr was listed in the 1910 Census in St. Louis living with her daughter, Hattie (Harriett) Redmond, Nee Carr. I also found a marriage record for Amos and Ruth (Winn) Carr in the IGI index. The marriage record is without documentation. [Don Clendenin] Grandma Carr In one of Aunt Beulah's letters, she said that during the panic of ??? (she probably meant 1893) according to grandad Harman; Ruth Carr and her son, Amos broke up the furniture to keep warm because they were too shiftless to cut wood. I don't know if Amos and Ruth had a son named Amos, I've never heard that from anyone else. I do know grandma Julia (Carpenter) Harman absolutely detested her grandma Carr. Don (info from Don Clendenin) Jim, I dug out an old letter from Harvey & Velta (Mallow) Harman. The Mallows did a much better job of keeping family records than the Harmans. In fact, in this letter, dated Sep. 12, 1871, Velta says,"You know your grandma Julia didn't like to talk about her family." The fact is that grandma loathed her grandma Carr, and grandad said Ruth Carr was the meanest woman he'd ever met. Don Clendenin
