Note: Moved to David City, Nebraska(Butler County) Precinct Franklin Moved to Frontier County, Nebraska, in Laird Precinct, in 1885 Homesteaded in the west part of Laird Precinct on South Brushy Moved into the town of Maywood in 1903, and went ino real estate Retired and moved to Scotts Bluff , Nebraska in 1920. Moved back to Maywood, in 1925 Obituary H S Cowman was born at Greencastle, Indiana, Oct 10, 1850 and died October 20, 1926 at Maywood, Nebraska, aged 76 years and 10 days. When he was five years old he came with his parents to Marion County, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Hannah Francis Selby, August 22, 1872. To this union were born five children, three sons , two daughters: Mrs. N J Tuttle and E L Cowman of Maywood, Mrs. Charles Phelps of Brookfield, MO., C H Cowman of Curtis who were at his bedside when death came and Alvin Curtis Cowman, who departed this life March 28, 1918. In early manhood he was converted and united with the new Methodist church. He loved and trusted God to the last. When he learned it wasn't God's will that he should get well he assured his loved ones that it was all right. On April 30, 1919 he was married to Mrs. Palmetto Parker and moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska, in 1920 where they resided until 1925, when they returned to Maywood. He was kind, loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by those who knew him best. He leaves a wife, 23 grandhildren, 19 great grand childre, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. besides many other relatives and friends.
