Note: and Barbara Hill Perry of Greenville, NC. Related family names appear to have a connection with the descendents of George Hill of Hill's Point, Pamlico River. William B. Hill has added his data to that of Charles and presented for further research. The British Public Records and Craven County Land Grants Book contains the following: Richard Hill obtained a land grant of 100 acres of land, Sept. 8, 1708, on the Neuse River; 170 acres April 20, 1714, on the Southside of Neuse River, Westside of South River; 360 acres, it appears in the same area, Oct. 31, 1715. The record shows that Richard Hill received a land grant in 1713 from Thomas Lepper, amount and place not named. Land Grant Book records show that from 1713-1787 to Richard, Francis, Joshua, Robert, Joseph, Roger, Samuel, Stephen, John, David, Levi, Mary and Ann Hill in Bath County, Carolina Colony. Richard Hill's will of Feb. 17, 1728, witnessed by James Taylor, Thomas Jones, John Lewis, exec. of estate, brother Francis Hill, Province of North Carolina, Bath County, Craven Precinct. He calls himself a weaver, gives bed and furniture to his granddaughter Elizabeth Hill, also iron pott and pott hooks; his brother, Francis, is to keep the pott and furniture in his possession until Elizabeth marries. Will's his brother all the permanent or part of his movable estate, given me before, by my son-in-law, name appears to be Evan or Evon (Ivins?) Jones. he bequeaths one silver shilling to his daughter Ann Jones. Will probated March 18, 1728/9.
