a. Note:   ompany D. His Civil War pension application shows that he enlisted on November 7, 1862, was captured August 3, 1863, at Winchester, TN. He was held in two prison camps - the first Camp Close and was later moved to Fort Delaware. He was released on June 10, 1865 at the close of the war. He was never wounded, but almost lost his eyes due to measles that he contracted in the prison camp. He was granted pension under the Act of 1919, for pensioners on the roll of eighty years, or over, of age. This pension is dated February 9, 1921, and was to receive five dollars per month. He died in 1924.
