Note: se supplies. They were accostomed to rising early and when it was cold, as it was that fall morning ,to pour kerosene on the still warm coals to re-start the fire. Mabel thought she would warm the house before her parents returned. What she believed was a can of kerosene was later found to be white gasoline. The fire flashed and engulfed Mabel. Larry was able to pull his sister outside but she already had sustained fatal burns. Larry received severe critical burns over eighty percent of his body. He would undergo many years of therapy and skin grafts. Mabel is buried at Snowflake Cemetery, Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona. She was fourteen years and three months old.
