Note: la. John m. Sarah Sansom, daughter of William and Nancy Sansom. Sarah was b. about 1826 in Ala. They are on the 1850 census. They are on the 1860 Alabama Census living next to other Harrison families in Old Town. Living with them in 1860 was Thomas Sansom who was 18 years of age. Thomas was the son of James Sansom. James Sansom was living next to the Harrison's in 1850. John enlisted as a private in Company H, 53rd Alabama Calvery Regiment, at Elba, Ala. He died June 25, 1864. Oct. 31, 1864: James D McLean files his application to be appointed administrator of the estate of John A. Harrison. It was ordered that James D. McLean be appointed to administer the estate. Dec. 2, 1864: James D. McLean presented his inventory and appraisement of the estate. Dec. 3, 1864: James D. McLean filed his petition for an order to sell 1 mule and 1 yoke of oxen to pay the debts of the estate. It was ordered that the property be sold at public auction for cash to the highest bidder. Dec. 24, 1864: James D. McLean filed his account of the sale of the perishable property of the estate. July 11, 1866: James D. McLean: filed vouchers and evidences for a partial settlement. A day was appointed to make such partial settlement. Wiley Williams was appointed to act as guardian ad sitem for and to protect the interest of Nancy, Edmond, Elizabeth Matilda, John, Moses, Nace, Russell and William Harrison, minor heirs of the deceased. Jan. 26, 1867: James D. McLean filed his application for an order to proceed to sell certain real estate for the purpose of paying the debts due from the estate upon the ground that the personal property of said estate is insufficient for that purpose. It appearing form an inspection of the petition that the only heirs of the deceased are his five children: Nancy, Edmond of full age, John, Nace and Russell Harrison all under the age of fourteen. It was ordered that Feb. 19, 1867 be appointed a day for hearing. It was ordered that Nancy and Edmond have notice of the proceeding and Wiley Williams was appointed to act as guardian ad sitem to represent John, Nace, and Russell Harrison. Feb. 19, 1867: Found that personal property not sufficient to pay the debts of said estate. It was necessary to the interest of said estate, that the lands described as follows, to wit: the NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 sec 26 T3 range 19 should be sold for the purpose of paying the debts of the estate being only a small portion of the lands. Sept. 30, 1867: James D. McLean filed his report that on the first Monday of April 1867 the land ordered sold were purchased by William Russell for the sum of Twenty seven dollars.
