Note: 8 in Old Town, Coffee Co., Ala. His father is unknown. In 1869, Angus m. Frances Thomas, daughter of William Thomas and Rhodia Harper. Frances was b. Nov. 17, 1850 in Coffee Co., Ala. Angus applied for a confederate soldier's pension on Aug. 18, 1916 and gave his post office as New Brockton, Ala. He said he enlisted on March 28, 1862 and was a private in Company M 40th Alabama Infantry. He was wounded in 1863 in the left groin at the battle of Chickamauga and was paroled at the end of the war in 1865. According to Angus' military pension application he was born May 18, 1836. His tombstone has 1839 as his birth year but according to Census records he was born in 1848. On the 1921 Census of Confederate Soldier's he was born in Geneva County, Alabama and his residence in 1921 was Rt 1, New Brockton, Alabama. His house burned in 1874. Angus and Frances gave land for a school. It was called Harrison School House. Angus died April 1929 and Frances died Aug. 8, 1926. Both are buried at Phillips Cemetery in Coffee Co., Ala. He was living in Peacock, Coffee Co., Ala in 1900 and in Pendleton, Holmes Co., Fla, Sept. 8, 1916. Angus was a farmer. The 1900 Census has them having 12 children being born, 11 living. Children: 1. The father of her children was suspected to be Robert Bowdoin. Celia's children went by the last name Harrison. Children: 1. Modess Ann Lee Harrison - b. April 13, 1896, Ala.; d.
