Note: R.T. attended Blinn College and after graduation began working for Blue Bell Creameries as a salesman. He drove the first refrigerated delivery truck acquired by them. He was later engaged in the wholesale grocery business in Brenham and La Grange. In 1942 he enlisted in the Navy and was soon in the South Pacific at war aboard the USS Alcyone. R.T. was discharged in 1945 at the conclusion of the war and returned to his previous employment, as a very troubled victim of the war and its aftermath. He became ill in 1952, due mainly to a habit of drinking he had acquired after the war. He spent the next two years in and out of the Naval Hospital in Houston until his death in 1954.
