Note: Obituary February 19, 1965 Watertown Daily Times Bangor Native Dead, Aged 82 Mrs. Lucey Stacey Maine Had Lived in Potsdam Since 1907. Ptsdam, Feb. 19 -- Mrs. Lucy s. Maine, 82, Chestnut Street, died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Lindsay, with whom she had been living for six months. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the garner funeral home with Rev. James Braker, pastor of the First Baptist church, and Rev. Norman S. Bell, pastor of the Emmanuel southern Baptist church, officiating Burial wil be in the Bayside cemetery in the spring. Vega O.E.S. will conduct rites at the funeral home thursday at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening and Thursday afternoon and evening. She is survived be four sons, Clark and Elgin Maine, Potsdam, Leon Maine, Cathage, Harold Maine, Nashua, NH; three daughters Mrs. Leslie (Blanche) Curtis, Leonardville, Mrs. Carlton (Laura) Sanderson, Carthage, Mrs. Maurice Lindsay, Potsdam; four brothers, William and Adolphus Stacey, Black River Henry Stacey, Watertown, Burt Stacey, Bruston: two sisters Mrs. Margaret Hatch, Watertown, Miss Louise Stacey, Chatham, Mass.; 36 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Maine was born in Bangor, October 31, 1881, a daughter of William and Ellen Barton Stacey. she was married to Carroll Maine on January 5, 1907, in West Potsdam. Mr. Maine who was employed with the former Racquette River Paper company died 1948.
