a. Note:   Peter Stalker was a hairdresser out of Leith, Edinburgh. He and Catherine Tillas were never married though he did claim his son Peter as his. On film #1040104, I found the birth of Peter Stalker on April 16, 1799. For further verification that this man is the father of our Catherine Stalker, I found her on the 1840 census in Limekilns, Fife living with her grandmother Catherine Tillas. Thus, sadly, Catherine Tillas never did marry but, lived with her son and granddaughter. (Look under Peter Stalker Master Mariner for further documentation as to his birth.)
