Notes
a. Note:   David Benjamin 3 - (Richard 2-1) Born about 1687 at Southold L.I., N.Y.; The son of Richard Jr. and Elizabeth (---) Benjamin; Died between October 9, 1734 and June 16, 1738 in Goshen, Orange County, N.Y. The name of his wife is unknown. (David's wife might have been a Reeve or a Moore. Both families used the name Silas and both had lines that went to Orange County, N.Y.)
It certainly would appear that he married and raised his family on Long Island.
David came to Orange County about 1730. His will is on file in Orange County, N.Y. It was dated October 9, 1734 and proved June 16, 1738 and divided his property among David Jr., Silas and Jonathan. Jonathan sold all or part of his share after his father's death in 1738. David Benjamin Sr. bought this land from Ebenezer Holley of Goshen, N.Y. David Sr. granted one half of his property in the southeast division of Goshen Township to his oldest son David Jr., except ten acres given to his son Silas and the other half to his son Jonathan.
