Note: Custom Field:<_FA#> Residence REFN: 4.0 George P. was born in a sod house in western Nebraska, and the family moved to Poole, Ne., when he was still quite young. He completed the eighth grade and shortly thereafter, went to work for the Burlington Railroad at age 15. He continued working for the CB&Q RR and was transferred from Ravenna, NE, in 1943 to the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant in Grand Island, NE during the 2nd World War; he was active with the railroad until his death. He was much admired by his fellow workers because of the knowledge he had accumulated during his 52 years of service. I was very proud of my father!
