Note: ----- DANIEL DAVIDSON of HICKMAN CO. TN, ( Notes from Tina Rogers Beller files & those of Elsie B. Davidson Rogers including other researchers data ------ ( Daniel's daughter Sarah Davidson ( has no marriage records ) was born in North Carolina in 1801 and Daniel's second known daughter Parmelia was then born in Tennessee about 1805, with the remainder of DANIEL's children born from 1806 - 1816 in Tennessee as well. It would appear that Daniel Davidson, his wife and children were on the move out of North Carolina between 1801 - 1805 when daughter Parmelia was then born in Tennessee. One census entry for Parmelia Davidson Lancaster listed her born in South Carolina. If so, perhaps they entered Tennessee after 1806 where the other children were then born having come out of North Carolina, down through South Carolina and then up into Tennessee settleing wherever his sons Harvey Love, and Ira S. Davidson were then born. Unknown are the dates of birth for Dan, Bill, and John Davidson also listed as sons of Daniel Davidson as well per the 1880 Pioneer history of this family. So Dan, Bill, and John Davidson could have been born anytime between at least 1801 - 1830 when Daniel is on the 1830 Hickman Co. TN. Census. It is also possible that Dan, Bill and John were born previous to 1801 when Sarah was born in North Carolina. So Dan, Bill, and John Davidson could be older brothers to Sarah and were born in North Carolina too. Assuming those dates for Daniel's children being born are about correct, then Daniel Davidson was in North Carolina in 1801 but in Tennessee by 1805 and remained in Tennessee where his other children were then born from 1805-1816. Daniel was in Hickman Co. TN by 1825, at least, and was employed as a school teacher. He is documented on the 1830 Hickman Co. TN Census having lived next to his first daughter Sarah, and her family that included her children. Daniel's census of 1830 shows he has various ages living in his household but none of age of himself who would be female to be his wife who was mother to his children born from 1801 -1816. The last child born to Daniel Davidson that we listed, is Mary Davidson born about 1815 or brother Ira born 1814-1817 and it may be that Daniel's wife had died after 1816-1817 somewhere in Tennessee and prior to his moving his family into Hickman Co. TN. Daniel's wife may have died in childbirth of their last child, but which child ? One would think Daniel would not be moving his young children and newly born baby with no mother, until he felt that they could actually move as a family unit safely into other territories in Tennessee. Daniel is listed as an early pioneer in Hickman Co. TN and it is known he was settling in Brushy in Hickman Co. TN area by 1825 where he was a school teacher. He died after his 1830 Hickman Co. TN Census, showing he was age of 50-60 in 1830 ( making him born 1770-1780 ). Per the published PIONEER historical sketch of Daniel Davidson of Hickman Co. TN, Daniel had died there sometime 46 - 48 years previous to the 1880 date of article being written. That would mean sometime between 1832 - 1834 would be the actual date per this article that Daniel Davidson had died, but other family members have consistantly listed his death date as 1837, but so far no proof of why that is said to be his death year. I have chosen to list Daniel Davidson's death then, sometime between 1832 to 1837. - Tina Rogers Beller, Dec. 15, 2006. *************************************** ( 2 rolls of Microfilm with 1880 PIONEER historical Sketch of Daniel Davidson of Hickman Co.
