Note: Mabel (Nelson) Peterson went to high school in Omaha as a music student. After graduating, she went to Chicago to the conservatory of music. She taught music and was a church organist. Her husband, Bert, was first a teacher in a one room schoolhouse around St. Edward. Then he became a farmer on his parents homestead of 160 acres. He left the farm because of the drought and grasshoppers, also Mabel had died. He went to California because he could be with his sister Delia and his brorher Ed in Santa Barbara. He worked for the telephone company until he retired.
