Note: Walter E. Nelson graduated from Luther Academy in 1907. He and Anna settled on a farm in Boone County in the adjoining section north of the Nelson Bros. homestead. In 1926 the family moved to Bradish as Walter was employed at the bank. After Grandma Ed passed away the family moved to the "Outskirts" of Bradish, her home. The bank closed and the family moved back to the farm. Depression set in and Walter found work in the American Agricultural AssOr.iation office in Albion. as chairman and the family moved to St. Edward, NE. They took great interest in the Salem Church. Walter was treasurer for 20 years. Even though they lived 8 miles from Salem, the weather and sickness were the only things that kept them family home. Walter and Anna moved to Newman Grove after their retirement and changed their membership to Zion.
