a. Note:   Next in order was GEORGE Nelson, tall and straight. When he got his Sunday "go to meetin" clothes on and his stove pipe hat and his side burns trimmed just right he presented a sort of an aristocratic appearance. Mild mannered, yet said what he meant and meant what he said. Thought he spoke with a brogue we admired him for his ability to be able to express himself with so little effort. His outstanding team of horses were Bill and Jack, gray and bay. The name of his favorite dog was Fido. He married Hilda Anderson. Mabel, Wallace and Sallie are his branch of the Nelson relation,
  George Nelson came to the USA June 8, 1871. He became a U.S. citizen April 5, 1906. He homesteaded his quarter of land (15-20-6) in Boone County. George and wife Hilda finished building their house on their homestead in time for Wallace's birth on Christmas after living in a dugout.
