Obituary given to us while visiting Greenwood Cemetery Henry H. Stephens, for many years Superintendent of Grounds, Lehigh Agricultural Society, died yesterday at his home 36 South Madison, Allentown, following a short illness with complications. Age 68 years and 14 days, Mr. Stephens was born near Crackersport, South Whitehall Township, November 22, 1854. The son of the late David and Anna Glena (it's Angelina, nee Yeager) Stephens. On September 1, 1881 he was united in marriage to the late Adlai Butz. Ceremonies performed by the late Rev. E. J. Fogel. She preceeded him in death six years ago. This union was blessed with three daughters, the oldest of whom died in infancy. The surviving daughters are Mrs. Mort (Morton) Jacobs and Mrs. Walter Roberts. He was married a second time, his wife being Miss Sarah Benner, who, with nine grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Rowhine, this city, Mrs. Calvin Miller, Ormrod, Mrs. Eleanor Lazarus, Eagle Point, and Mrs. Sarah Ann Troxell, Mechanicsville, and one brother, George Stephens, also survive. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Cedarville Reformed Church and the West End Aid Society. For a number of years he was Road Supervisor and Secretary of the School Board of South Whitehall Township and at one time was in charge of the Franklin Butz farm where Muhlenberg College is now located. Funeral will be held from his late home on Monday afrernoon at 2:00. Services will be conducted at the house. Internment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
