a. Note:   SATTERFIELD HISTORY According to the old bible which was in the possession of James Major,
 he said in a letter to A. Y. Satterfield in1928, that the birth of Charles
 Hamilton Satterfield was 12 July 1770 in Birmingham, England, and that
 his son Edward Hamilton Satterfield was born 12 July 1797 in or near
 Greenville, S.C. When Rulon S. Satterfield, the son of A.Y. Satterfield
 was in England in 1929, he went to the Birmingham Library and found a
 record that gave this information on Charles Hamilton Satterfield and
 that with two brothers and two sisters they had left for the New World
 and had landed at Norfork, Va. This record also gave information of five
 or six other Satterfields of the same family.
