Notes
a. Note:   I remember pulling David around in the woods in Brunswick, Maine. Dad had put crib bars on the side of a wagon for us kids to pull him around to help Mom have a little rest. He was 5 when I went off too college and joined the Marines. Once I brought Melinda, my girlfriend from college home for dinner, while sitting eatting he was around 7, he asked if I had caught coddies yet by kissing her. ::laugh:: I came home on weekends to see him engrossed in Sega games on tv with friends in the neighborhood. He enjoyed eating pizza as much as I do. David started trombone lessons at the age of 10 in 5th grade. Grandview Elementary in North Charleston, WV. First choice of instruments was trumpet. Dad's favorite was trombone. Jim Ingram, Mom's friend from Morris Harvey University, told him his mouth suited for trumpet rather then trombone. Band at Stonewall Jackson Junior High for 3 years. First year band director was Mr. Persinger and assistant was Scott Milam. When David was in 8th grade, director became Mr. Rick Johnson. Better under Persinger. At Capital High School, band for 3 years. Bob Scott was the director. David enjoyed playing and marching. He was also in jazz band. Went to Marshall University in WV to study Music Education. Main desire was to play and march in bigger bands. While at Capital, he was chosen 2 years to go to WVU at Morgantown, to play in the Honors Band. This was an honor to our parents. They attended many concerts. David had many friends. Probably several hundred more then I can probably ever have in my whole life. A people person. Friendly and good person to talk to. He had a thing for yellow. Specially the yellow tweedy bird from road runner cartoons? He was out with a friend at night. Number bad conditions caused the accident. Late night. Icy roads. Slight driver intoxication. Also as the front seat passanger was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. Age 21. Missed by all.
