Note: Josiah, Sr. lived at Wareham, Ma., Lyme, Ct. and East Haddam, Ct. He m. at Rochester, Ma., Hannah, of Rochester, Ma., dau. of John Bumpas, Jr.(g.p 3.2). Hannah was b. at Rochester, Ma. Josiah was on meeting house committee 1744. He evidently moved to Lyme, Ct. as there are many land transfers to and from him in the years 1752-1766. One transfer in 1758 from Josiah to Issac, his father. Samuel Olmstead sold land to Josiah in East Haddam, Ct. Oct. 10, 1757. In both cases Josiah is spoken of as Lyme. In his will Issac mentions Josiah as of East Haddam, Ct. The will is dated 1759.
