Note: John, Sr. was b. and m. at Marshfield, Ma. and d. at Rochester, Ma. He lived at Scituate in 1676 when his house and barn were burned by Indians. He moved to Rochester, Ma. before 1685. He also resided at Marsfield Ma. His children were b. at Scituate, Ma. He moved to Middleboro, Ma. from Marshfield and then to Rochester and perhaps again to Middleboro, Ma. John took the oath of fidelity at Marshfield, Ma. in 1657 and made Freeman. His will was proven June 7, 1715. He was a farmer by occupation. He did not mention Samuel who had already disappeared to the south, nor Zoar, nor Jacob(?). He mentions Job who went south after his father's death.
