a. Note:   After Adam's death, Marie Louise and her daughters continued to live on the Pineville side of the river close to Louis and his family. She kept the farm and logging operation going. In 1820 she still had all six of the girls at home. At least two of her family worked in the field. She had eight slaves, and Louis and Mary Martha had four. Between them there was enough help to run the house, the farm, and the logging operations. Louise's family was grown, except for the youngest girl, who was only seventeen years old.
