Note: Esbon F. Rook enlisted on August 8, 1862 and was discharged on May 23, 1863. Department of the Interior records show Eston (sp) F. Rook, a private in Company H, 131 Penna. Voluteers, suffered a gunshot wound in his left arm and left breast at Fredericksburg, Virginia on December 13, 1862. A Claimants Affidavit advises, "I was treated for wounds on the battle field on the following morning after being wounded by a surgeon from another division. Did not know his name. I was taken care of by the company cook, an aged colored man by the name of Henry Hams.
Esbon F. Rook and wife, Annie are buried at West Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, Pa. Lot 670, Section C (Telephone 717-323-8421)
