She stated that he was her grandson and that he was born at her house. She stated that she was 79 years old and lived in Miston, TN. STATE GAZETTE - DYERSBURG, TENNESSEE, TUESDAY AFTERNOON, APRIL 20, 1948 Conduct Rites for Mrs. Jimmie James Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at two-thiry o'clock at the Baptist Church in Miston for Mrs. Jimmie James, who died at her home in Miston Saturday afternoon. She was 83. Last rites were said by the Reverend G. B. Oakley and burial was in Neeley's Chapel. J. W. Curry and Son of Dyersburg were in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. James, a life-long resident of that community and an active member of the Baptist church during her lifetime, is survived by her husband, Rufus James; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Vernon of Miston, Mrs Nellie Morgan of Holland, Missouri, and Mrs. Mandy Clymer of Tiptonville. She also leaves several grandchildren. (Note: I believe that the name listed in the obit is in error. Her name was Jennie. D Green)
