Note: Charles originally lived on Pike Place in Middletown and sold that house to Wesleyan Univ. before moving to Cromwell in 1921. There,he bought a house and four acres of land on the Hartford Road, a short distance form Cromwell Hall. He arrived in US 31 Jul 1890.(Newspaper clipping) Charles always claimed to be "direct descendent" of Willem Kieft, Governor of New Amsterdam. (Newspaper clipping). This has yet to be proven. I have not even found any record of Willem having children before he drowned in 1636.
