Note: Cremated at Forest Lawn Crematory in Los Angeles and is burried at Mt. Olivet in Zion, IL. She is burried at the foot of her daughters grave. Her daughter was Flossie Belle Handyside. Burried in space G-254. 1870 census in Henry County, IL lists Catherine as age 8 years. 1879 Dec 25 - married Fortesque W. Linnell - Marriage Records of Henry Co. #354 According to Emily Baker, her daughter, she was the belle of area when she married Fortesque. She also tells the story of when Fortesque was courting Anna, they were sitting one night in the Parlor and every now and then smoke would pour out of the chimney. Finally Fortesque said he may as well go home. Anna's brothers were putting a big book in the stove pipe. 1880 census in Henry County, IL - not found 1884 Apr 2 - married William Nelson Baker - Marriage Records of Henry Co. #1747 1884 Apr 10 - Her father, J. Adam Miller, wrote his will and had it witnessed, leaving Anna out of his will. He did leave $200.00 for his grandson, Clarence G. Linnell but made sure Anna could not receive it by stipulating that if Clarence died before he did the money would remain in the estate and be shared by the other siblings of J. Adam Miller. This was done only one week after Anna married William Nelson Baker against her father's wishes. As it turned out J. Adam was right. According to Emily Baker, the youngest of Anna and William, he was not a "loving man" and he rarely worked. She also said that it was "not a happy home and he (Mr. Baker) did not treat any of them very well, even mother. He was cruel sometimes". Her mother had a very hard life and finally left him and moved to Zion, IL in 1902. He visited but did not move with the family. Her sons were "the mainstay" of the family. He is burried in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Zion, IL but is not near Anna and the family did not purchase any tombstone. 1899 July 19 - Living in Genesco, Il according to court documents reguarding her mother's estate records. 1900 June 21 - Henry County Census shows her living in Phoenix Twp with 5 children. Ruth is not listed in the census. She also states at this time she was the mother of seven children, six of which are living. One child would be Clarence Linnell. The other is probably a child who died at birth. Emily mentions she thinks her mother had two children who died at birth. This would account for one. 1902 March - Moved family to Zion, Il. Worked a farm in Buela Park, which is north of Zion according to Emily Baker. 1903 Jan - Living in Zion, Il according to court documents reguarding her mother's estate records.
