Notes
a. Note:   Date: Mon, 04 Jun 2001 18:19:16 -0300 From: rossbarrett@ns.sympatico.ca (Ross Barrett) I have some information about the Barrett's - Bugden's that my husband gave me. My husband's father was Victor Barrett and Victor's siblings were Joseph, Chesley and Blanche Barrett. They were all born in the very early 1900's in Random Island. Their father was Abram Barrett and their mother was Madeleine Bugden. It is the family understanding that Abram's father was Caleb but there is no information as to Caleb's wife or date of birth or marriage. We assume that Abram was not an only child. We have copies of land grants dated 13th September 1905 showing land granted to : number 10713 in Nut Cove to Caleb, George, William and Alexander Barrett; Number 12474 to Abraham Barrett only and number 13599 to George Barrett. The name Abram is spelled Abraham on the land deeds. There is a land grant number 4892 giving land to Caleb in Britannia Cove.

So that would solve some problems. However, with the name Alexander on their land grants I can only assume they meant Abraham and not Alexander - and that would account for the confusion. So based on that, I can ASSUME that Caleb was the father and Abraham, George and William were the sons. Information from various sources, inc.
