Donna, I am a nephew of Ernie Redmond (alias Bowman) and Roberta Preston. My wife and I have been doing family research and got a "match" with Roberta when entering them in the family tree of ancestry.com. WorldConnect had, as a contact,-Sybella-. She gave us your e-mail address. We are searching for any information of Ernie's brother Charles Francis Redmond. He enlisted in the Canadian army in 1918, deserted a year later. His family has no word of him since enlistment. I would appreciate hearing from you with any information you may have on all three relatives. Thanks in advance.
Ernest James Redmond born Aug. 1st 1899, Carbonado WA. His family moved to Dawson Yukon in 1901. He enlisted in the Army, at Dawson, Sept. 1916, served overseas, discharged Apr. 1919. Returned home for a few years.(?) Spent some time in the Vancouver/Seattle area in the 20's and 30's. Married Roberta (Judy) Aug. 27th 1935 in Bellingham WA. Died in Chicago Jan 1980. Family lore has it that he was involved with "rum running" and was wanted by the police. He and Judy lived in Chicago from at least the 1940's. My parents visited them there in 1950. They lived under the alias of Bowman for the last 30+ years. Charles Francis Redmond born Feb. 22nd 1901, Carbonado WA. Raised in Dawson, enlisted in the Army, at Victoria, Aug. 1918. He received a misconduct discharge, as a deserter, Aug. 1919. His family never heard from/of him again. I don't know what happened to Judy. My mother and I had supper with a sister of hers, in Vanc. in 1960. No other contact. I didn't know her death date until seeing the info I assume you entered, as 1965. Ernie and Charles' siblings were: Margaret Mary (Maggie) 1902- 1995, William Hugh (Bill) 1904-1960), John Robert (1906-1920), and my father Joseph Omar (1909-1959). I have Ernie's WW1 Army records from Ottawa archives. Thanks again for you reply.
