  Another well known orphanage was that built in 1874 by Dr. Samuel Chadwick, was the Chadwick Orphanage in the Haulgh but demolished in 1963. His statue is in Victoria Square.
  This statue is on your right erected in 1873 by public subscription. Dr and Mrs Samuel Taylor Chadwick as a New Years gift placed �17,000 with trustees for the building of an orphanage on January 2nd 1868. This was just one of the many charitable things he did for the people of Bolton. He also paid �5,000 for the Chadwick Museum of natural history in Queens Park (now demolished) which opened in 1884. His surgery in which he practiced was close to this spot. His grave is in St. Peter's church yard.

  She died on April 22, 1923 aged 41 years at her residence 4537 Welwyn Street, Vancouver, B.C. She was married to George Egley. She was born June 26, 1881 in England. Mother was Katherine Pounder, no information on her father. The informant was her husband George Egley. She was buried on April 25, 1923 in Ocean View Cemetary, Burnaby, B.C. and cause of death was nephritis. ---------------- 1911 Census VAncouver
