Notes
a. Note:   There is a John Clark who married a Susannah Hurdle in 1851 from Cuckold's Cove and some of their children as listed as children of John and Elizabeth Susannah, but these are not this John and Elizabeth's children. This Elizabeth is a MORRIS...no Susannah in her name.
This is to certify that JOHN CLARK of Trinity and ELIZABETH MORRIS of the same place, were married at Trinity this twenty ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six, by me Todd Thomas Jones, Minister. This marriage was solemnized between us (X) John Clark, (X) Elizabeth Morris (X-their marks). In presence of us - John Morris (X-his mark), Edward Thick, witnesses present at the said marriage
John and Elizabeth Clarke were pioneers in Lance Cove along with another couple, Joseph and Elizabeth Baker Clarke of Kerley's.
According to Wilfred Martin's book, Random Island Pioneers, there were 2 Clark Families in Lance Cove in the 1860's: Joseph and Elizabeth and John and Elizabeth. Joseph and Elizabeth had a Jonathan that married a Lambert, and no John listed as their son. John and Elizabeth Clark had a John b. 1857. This John b. 1857 appears to have been listed as the child of Elizabeth Hurdle, but it should be Elizabeth Morris (her mother was a Hurdle)
