Note: Hello Donna Sorry to be so long in replying to your e-mail. John Dyer was the 6th of 8 children born to John and Frances in Kilndown Kent. My Grandfather Frederick was the 7th child. In the 1901 census John and Rachel were running a Beer House and Lodging House in Tunbridge Wells Kent. At that time they had a daughter Isabella born in 1900 in Caterham Surrey. I also believe that they had a son Frederick, but I have been unable to find any record of him. I don't remember Rachel, but John, (we called him uncle Jack) visited my grandmother Lucy (widow of Frederick) in Southampton to help her maintain her large garden. I recall one occasion when my father took Lucy and myself to visit John. He was living in a wooden cottage called School Cottage in Withyham in East Sussex. The only occasion I can remember seeing Isabella was at John's funeral. I would have been 14 at the time. I hope this information is of some use to you best wishes Mike mikefdyer@hotmail.com
