a. Note:   Corner Brook _________ Dec 23, 2000 Wester Star: 60TH ANNIVERSARY Owen and Lucretia Pear will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve. The Pears have four children - Winston, Maureen, Senora and Carl (with whom they reside at 2 Peddle's Lane in Corner Brook). They also have six grandchildren - Jayna, Michael, Dawn and Paul - and two great-grandchildren - Adele and Simon. The Pears celebrated with a special family dinner on Dec. 21 and anticipate an enjoyable, relaxing 60th anniversary on Christmas Eve. Mr. Pear is the son of Albert and Maude Pear and Mrs. Pear is the daughter of Capt. Job and Emma Kean. Mr. Pear is a former engineer with CN and Mrs. Pear once worked as an OR technician at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
  PEAR, John Owen January 20th, 1914 - November 20th, 2006 Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Owen Pear announce his passing on Monday, November 20th, 2006 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 65 years and best friend Lucretia (Chrise) nee Kean; sons: Winston (Betty), Kilbride, Carl, Corner Brook; daughters: Maureen Noseworthy, Corner Brook and Senora Cooke (Greg), Deer Lake; grandchildren: Michael Pear (Kelly), Singapore, China, Jayna Forward (Rob), St. John's, Dawn Pear, Toronto, On, Paul Pear (Beatriz), Dallas, Texas, Karen Lugo (Rafael), Holland, Michigan, USA, and Mark Cooke; special grandson: Gary Formanger; great grandchildren: Adele Forward, Simon Forward and Ryan Pear, two sisters: Beatrice Bugden and Ida Primmer, Corner Brook; sister-in-law: Emmy Marshall, as well as other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Maude Pear; brothers: Elward (Myrtis), Ray (Viola), Earl and Frank Marshall; sisters: Nada Brewer (Gordon) and Mable Jennings (Frank). Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 A.M. to 12 noon. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd , at 2:00 p.m. from Humber United Church, Clarence Street. Rev. Kathy Brett officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Many thanks to the staff of the 3rd floor and palliative care unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital for the highest degree and most caring attention in Owen's last days. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
