a. Note:   Family Memo's include: "In 1906 Caleb and Marion Handford came from Stonewall Manitoba to homestead on N.W. 20-24-7 W. 3rd. There were 3 school age children, Grace, Cuthbert & Edgar who atteneed the sod school. Grace later married Morton McKelvey and went back to Manitoba to farm. Cuthbert joined the medical Corpe in World War 1 and after the war he went through for a Medical Dr. and practiced in Winnipeg till 1961. edgar homesteaded on SE 36-24-7 w 3rd then joined the Army in WW1. An older daughter Ida married Jack Murdock and lived in the Birsey District until her death in 1976. The Older girls Maud, Laura & Myrtle never lived in the Birsey (Bussey) District but the 3 older boys Arthur, Garnet & Gordon also homesteaded there. Garnet married Nellie Tullis & Gordon married a Manitoba girl, Jean Morrison. Arthur married Madge Owens the 1st teacher of Levita." Kathy Hodson
