Note: Alden was engaged to my grandmother but after WW I, he returned to Redcliff, Alberta to visit his parents. He developed influenza pneumonia and died. I have a telegraph message from his parents to my grandmother saying he was ill and that Alden was calling for her. Then a second telegraph indicating that he had passed away. Alden signed up for the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in Vernon BC on May 10th, 1915 and then again in New Westminster, BC, Canada on Dec 1, 1915. The 2 forms have different middle names and places of birth but the same birth date and the same place where his next of kin lived (Redcliff) Canada Archives has 2 papers on him. 1. Alden Frederick Lamont b. April 9, 1895 in Montreal. Mother Mrs. A. Lamont of Redcliff, Alberta 2. Alden Fuller Lamont b. April 9, 1895 in New Glascow, Nova Scotia. Father Donald Lamont of Redcliff, Alberta. It does appear that Alden was born in Nova Scotia but was living in Quebec at some point as some of his siblings were born there.
