Notes
a. Note:   father is John Clarke
According to Beatrice Bugden, nee Pear, Jessie Clarke had 3 other sisters and 2 brothers. She also said one of the sisters died during the influenza epidemic. One of the brothers apparently died shortly after WW II also.
Random Island Pioneers states that there was a John T. Clark in Lance Cove who was b. abt 1857. A few lines down it states that a John Clark married Martha Elizabeth Walters
March 13, 1857 John ---John and Elizabeth Clarke fisherman Hurdle February 6th 1857 October 4th 1857 Cuckold's Cove Benj. Smith
December 5, 1858 John ---John and Susannah Clarke fisherman Hurdle September 16th 1858 December 5th 1858 Cuckold's Cove Benj. Smith
I believe the first John was supposed to be John and Elizabeth Morris Clarke as John and Susannah Hurdle Clarke had Emma Ann in July which is too close to have John in Feb 1857 as their son. Since there is no mention of susannah (just elizabeth), I think the maiden name of Elizabeth was an error. She was almost always listed as Susannah Hurdle and only once listed as Elizabeth Susannah Hurdle Clarke....never just as Elizabeth hurdle clarke Pluse, John Clarke and Elizabeth Morris were pioneers in Lance Cove so this would explain him being in Lance Cove to marry Martha Walters.
