In 1881 , John Furniss Atkinson came to Clearwater, Manitoba to join his father and mov ed in the spring of 1882 with his wife Elizabeth (Bessie) to (NE34-1-27) where he built a house of logs, the first house to be constructed in township1-range2 7. They raised a family of eight, who remained in Coulter but their descendants are scattered across Canada.
