Note: 1930 Census US Wondero Charles 58 50-9 2B 60 Clinton Township Wondero Annie 56 50-9 2B 61 Clinton Township Wondero Isabell 27 50-9 2B 62 Clinton Township Wondero Jean 14 50-9 2B 63 Clinton Township Appears to be spelled WONDOW in 1930 census ----------------------------- Hi Donna, My great grandfather was Herman Wondero, Charles brother so I am on the Wondero side. My mom remembers Annie as being a home body. She just wanted to stay on her farm with her animals. She only would go away with Charles in their truck. The dogs names were Lassie & Laddie. Annie was a good cook and housekeeper. She had unfinished white pine floor in the farm house and they were bright white because she washed them so much. When she married Charles he was Missouri Synod Lutheran and she refused to become Lutheran because all of the services were in German and she couldn't understand it so they went to the Methodist church together. One Thanksgiving Annies relatives in Canada sent her a turkey for dinner because no one had ever seen or eaten a turkey in Macomb, Michigan and thats where my mother had her first taste of turkey. All three of the daughters went to college and became teachers. Ellen taught my husband in high school. All of the daughters have died. If you have more questions about Annies life just let me know. Mom(Mabel Wondero Smith) has a great memory and her sister(Hilda Wondero Jarvis) lives in Oscoda, Michigan and probably would remember alot too. Maybe even have a picture. Sorry again for taking so long to reply.
