Notes
a. Note:   Abraham was a joiner by trade. Marshall Neilson, Landmark Farm, R.R. #2 Georgetown, Ontario, Canada L7G 4S5, has the original wedding certificate of Abraham and Mary Fish which took place in 1813.
Shortly after the birth of their first son, Abraham, Abraham and Mary left Scotland for New York City along with Abraham's brother-in-law, George Fisher. This must have been Mary's brother. Acording to Marshall Neilson's notes, George had changed his name from Fish to Fisher and became disinherited by his father.
The two families stayed in New Youk for four years, coming to "Muddy York" (Toronto) in 1819 where they immediately applied for a free land grant. Marshall Neilson has a copy of the document. Abraham and George were each given 100 acres of land in what was to become Esquesing Township in Halton County, Ontario.
