a. Note:   A in Music Education, received a M.Ed, 1963, in Counseling and Guidance from USC, and an Ed.D. from Waldon University in Florida, 1972. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army as a weatherman, stationed in India and China. After the war, he was employed in the Los Angeles City Schools from 1947 to 1967 successively as a music teacher, math teacher, Vice Principal, and Counselor. In 1967 he was granted a leave of absence to become a counselor in Nigeria with USAID, but due to the outbreak of revolution there he had to give up the Nigeria assignment, and he became a part-time counselor for the Paramount School District and part-time psychometrist with the Downey School District. In 1968 he became principal of Rancho Los Amigos Hospital School, where he remained for five years. During this latter service he wrote a book on teaching and motivating retarded children, especially those with Downs Syndrome. He served as a consultant for disabled children for Los Angeles County. He maintained an active interest in Scouting, serving as Cub Master, Scout Master, Explorer Advisor, Neighborhood Commissioner, and Area Commissioner. He and Alice fulfilled a lifelong dream when they toured Europe.
  Alice worked before her marriage as a beautician, but has been a homemaker in the true sense of the word ever since. She is adept at needlework and crafts, and has provided a listening ear and companionship to all her family for many years.
