Note: e his wife attended the sick, helping as a practical nurse, even violating the quarantine during the yellow fever epidemic to take food to the sick. Charles' health eventually failed, due to the fumes generated when mixing prescriptions. The family moved to a farm near Gallipolis for several years in hopes that his health would improve, however the land was poor and they decided to move to Oklahoma where the land was better. While there, Charles became a rural mail carrier, delivering mail by horse-drawn vehicle, but the family also farmed. Charles and Ora later moved to Puyallup, WA, where their son William was living. There they raised white leghorn chickens and sold plants that they had raised. They had a prolific vegetable and flower garden. Charles' speciality was huge tomatoes. Ora played the piano and also gave music lessons. Ora Elizabeth Willmott Gibbons stated several times that she had been named for her grandmother Ora Grayum, and that Ora's middle name was Elizabeth. However on the census, the name was Ora Z. Hebard, so I have used Zeanna as her middle name. This name appears in many other records also. Charles and Ora were 8th cousins. Their common ancestor was Matthew Marvin. Another was Gerard Spencer (8th cousins once removed).
