Note: N170 "D. B. Parmelee, Prominent Farmer Dies at Home Durward B. Parmelee of Bristol born Sept 3, 1871, son of Dorus and Miranda Bates Parmelee, died last Friday night, Dec. 8, in the farm home situated northwest of the village where he had always lived. Mr. Parmelee's main interest was farming which was almost a passion with him, and he was recognized as one of the most successful farmers of the town, loving to pioneer in new methods. Although never seeking public office, he was respected as a leading citizen for his integrity, and served community interests as selectman and juryman. A member of no church, he was nevertheless a supporter of all worthy causes, and among them was the Baptist church. Family survivors include a nephew, Merritt P. Allen of Bristol, and two nieces, Miss Gertrude Parmelee of Bristol Mrs Marion Doherty of Jamaica Plain, Mass. Funeral services were held at the family home Tuesday afternoon at 2. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery of Bristol."
