Note:   N165 "Nannie Parmelee Services Slated Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Welch-Ryce Associates chapel for Mrs. Nannie Isabella Parmelee, 96, a resident here since 1873,. She died Friday in a local rest home. She was born in Kentucky, April 7, 1862, and when a child, with her late parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Pilcher, traveled to San Francisco and then by boat to Santa Barbara. She was married in Santa Barbara April 12, 1889, to Harvey J. Parmelee, who died here in 1937. The husband also was a pioneer resident of this area, coming here in 1872 and engaged in the real estate and insurance business. Both were active in the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Barbara. Following the death of her husband, she resided in Edgerly Court, and more recently at Mission Inn. Surviving relatives are a son, Harvey W. Parmelee of Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego; and a daughter, Mrs. Paul A. Jones of Santa Barbara. There are two grandchildren, John Parmelee and Harry A. Nethery of Walnut Creek, and three great-grandchildren, Beth Parmelee and Harry and Alyson Nethery. A niece is Mrs. W. Gotshall. Dr. Lawrence Fisher of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be in the family plot at Santa Barbara Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Reginald D. Smith, Charles T. Holland, Roy E. Gammill, Horace A. Sexton, Allen E. Rogers and John A. Parma."
