Notes
a. Note:   Butch had three back operations before age 56. He also has degenerate bone disease in his back. After retiring in 1992, Buch and Lilly sold their home and land. We purchased a diesel pusher motor home and traveled full time for three years. Butch had back surgery in 1972 and was told in 1995 that he needed another one so it was time to settle down again. We purchased some lots and a mobile home in Sun Country Resort in Whitney, Hill Co., Texas. There we stayed until Aug. 1999. We then purchased 9 acres and a double-wide mobile home in Gholson, Mclennan Co., Texas (north of Waco about 11 miles).
Lilly Jean Beal Engleman (lillyj57@@aol.com) 301 High Lane, Waco, Texas 76705 When Butch was 14, in 1956, he shot himself in the leg. His parents had gone to a funeral and he went rabbit hunting with some friends, they were also drinking. He leaned the 22 up against a tree and somehow knocked it down. Anyway it went off and he now has a hole in his thigh. The bb's or whatever they were still come to the surface and he picks them out with a knife. He said he stuffed his tee shirt in the hole, got on the back of a motorcycle, they tied his leg to the 22 so it wouldn't move and took him to the hospital Only a kid!
