Lilly. Thanks for the info. I am a long way from creating my own website. Save the info in case I need it in a couple of years. (Ha!Ha!) Just wanted to let you know I just called a man in Claude, Texas who knew Leah Hill Morris and her husband, Ritt Morris. He said Leah died about 15 years ago, and her husband about 7 or 8 years ago. They both are buried in Claude. Ritt has a sister living in the town of Panhandle, and her son (Ritt's nephew) is a lawyer in Amarillo. His name is Wes Wester. When the weather gets cooler and we are able to travel, I plan to go out there to seek information. Do you have any new facts about the Hill family? Did you get a connection established between the Parkers and the Allisons? Let me know. Sue

I called Frances in Panhandle a little while ago and we talked for over an hour. I'll have a big phone bill. She is such a gracious lady. She said she will send snapshots of Leah to me, for me to copy. I will make copies for you and Jay's daughters. and mail the originals back to her. She told me so much about Leah and the family that she had me tearing up (she did too). I'll start out telling you all I can remember: Leah was raised by Pinkie. I think Christene was too). Times were hard during the depression. My dad was working in the oil fields, and helped the family financially Leah attended Baylor University for one yr. Then she borrowed $75.00 from a bank in Bremond, and went to Northwest Hospital School of Nursing in Amarillo. She later worked for a cancer doctor and was exposed to radium, which she thought was the reason she was sterile and unable to have children. She and Rit married in 1939; lived in Claude and later built a new home there. They were devoted to each other. She died from pneumonia. complicated by emphysema. (A lot of the Hills had lung problems) Frances met Leah's father one time and she told me he was a cute little old man. (John Thomas Hill). Frances said Leah was a wonderful person, very kind, patient, loving and helped to care for Rit's parents and an old aunt. About 10 or 11 years after Leah's death, Rit had a heart attack and he also had emphysema. He was never happy after Leah's death, and did not want to be a burden on anyone, so he shot himself, and Frances was the one to find him in his backyard. Frances invited us to stay with her when we go to Claude and Memphis. She will show us Leah and Rit's graves and the house where they lived. and tell us more about them. I'll tell you more if I think of something else. Gotta go. Sue
