  I think your John William Hill may be the son of William Hill, Born 1735/37 who married Elizabeth Clanton 1771 and when she died 1799/1800 he married Lydia White. William and Lydia sold land in Greene Co., Ga.(part of Wilkes Co., Ga.) 1802 to Joshua Moore. William died 1809.Lydia White Hill then married Isaac Hill, Sr. born 1748 about 1810/11 in Georgia. This is just my opinion and must be checked out. All of these persons you mention, "HILL, White,PARKER,LASSITER,NEWTON' ARE IN MY LINE OF HILLS. Lee lshi369@@aol.com

  Lilly, I saw your family tree on Ancestry. com. My grandmother always said John Hill was adopted right off the ship. Since he was to young to talk the original name was lost. I'm not sure if this is true. But her grandfather would have been David Joseph Hill.
